Welcome to our website! - a resource covering the history and current events of the Montrose Park Historic District located in South Orange, NJ.

Thank You Amy Dahn

The Board of Trustees of the Montrose Park Historic District Association would like to publicly thank and acknowledge the extraordinary accomplishments of our long-serving president, Amy Dahn. Until last month, Amy served as president of our organization for 10 consecutive years, and a Trustee of our organization for 12. After over a decade of service and inspiring leadership, Amy decided to step down as President of the organization and not stand for reelection as a Trustee.

Residents of Montrose Park and South Orange have benefited greatly from Amy's vision and dedication. From a grassroots organization of seven concerned neighbors, the Montrose Park Historic District Association has grown under Amy's leadership to become a nationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the integrity of Montrose Park's remarkable collection of architecturally significant homes. Amy has been instrumental in shaping our mission, creating many of our programs, and elevating the prominence and significance of Montrose Park as both a national and state historic district.

The list of Amy's contributions is long, from our signature Montrose in May historic house tour that attracts visitors from near and far, to our annual Family Fun Day held in Grove Park, to our Mountain Station Clean Up, to our varied educational programs on historic preservation. We can even say the streets of Montrose Park are better off because of Amy, who championed the special street signs that grace our neighborhood. Perhaps the most important contribution that Amy has made has been the relationships she has forged on behalf of our neighborhood with the Village, county and state. During Amy's tenure, the Montrose Park Historic District has become a model for other historic districts throughout the country.

The Board of Trustees appreciates Amy's dedication and incredible contributions. Thankfully, Amy will continue to stay involved as a volunteer with our organization. Please join us in thanking Amy Dahn for her years of dedicated service and leadership; and in recognizing the difference she has made for all of us in Montrose Park and in South Orange.
