Academy Street School - 1898 - 1910
This building at the intersection of Academy Street and South Orange Avenue was the first location of a school in town. Originally built in the mid-18th century, it was repaired in 1787. In 1815, a two-storey wooden building was built and named the Columbian School. This photo shows the replacement brick building that was built in 1880. (Private Collection)
